Welcome!

I love working with crafts, rug hooking, wool felt, penny rugs and stitcheries. Primitives are my favorites, but I also love to mix different styles of decorating.

Please sit back, relax and enjoy my blog.

My first post on my new blog - 12/30/09

I created my new blog late last night and am creating my first post!! I really don't have any idea what I'm doing, but it seems like something I would enjoy. I was on the Rug Hooking Daily blog which took me to several other blogs and I realized there was a lot of fun to be had and that I was missing out. So here's my first blog - created on December 30, 2009!!

I would love to be able to participate in the ornament swaps and things like that. There seem to be plenty of those out there, although I missed them for this past Christmas. I love rug hooking, wool felt, penny rugs and doing stitcheries. I would love to receive ornaments, recipes or whatever in swaps with other bloggers.

My first big thing on my to-do list for my blog is to change how it looks so it's creative and interesting like a lot of the others I see. I'm not sure how to do this, but hopefully I can figure it out.

I love primitives and folk art and I collect many things. I have a rather large collection of Santas that I've been collecting for over 25 years. I've recently started collecting pumpkins. Pumpkins are now my favorite things!! (I think I must have been a pumpkin in another life...) I love the way they look. I have a bazillion of them and each year I add more to my collection.

I also love to go to flea markets and yard sales to collect items to repurpose into something else. There are so many things that are so worthwhile when changed up a bit. This fall I participated in several local craft shows. I needed business cards for the shows so I came up with the name Starlight Primitives. My significant other lives in a little town called Starlight and I love primitives so I thought the name fit pretty well. What do you think?

I've added some of the links that I like to go to about rug hooking, wool felt and punch needle, etc. I've not tried punch needle yet, but am going to give it a try soon. I've also added some recent holiday photos of my Santas.

Well, I guess I'd better wrap up this first blog. I'm not sure that I've said anything important, but at least I've said it.

Have a good week and a happy new year!!
Sharon
